END TIME PERVERSION: Woman accused of choking girlfriend, threatening police

MARICELA CASTRO

 At approximately 8:19pm on January 13, 2015, Uniformed Harlingen Police Officers

were dispatched to the 700 block of E. Madison Avenue regarding a disturbance. Upon

arrival, Officers made contact with an adult female Harlingen resident (victim). The

victim advised that her girlfriend (MARICELA CASTRO) had assaulted her by slapping

her in the face several times, and then by grabbing her by the throat impeding her normal

breathing. The victim sustained visible scratch marks and pain as a result of the assault.

CASTRO was placed under arrest for Felony Assault, and transported to the City Jail for

processing. During the arrest and subsequent transport, CASTRO was increasingly

uncooperative. While inside the back seat of the Police unit, CASTRO was kicking the

back doors and enclosure. At some point during the transport CASTRO spit saliva

through the enclosure window, striking the Officer on the back of the neck. CASTRO

also managed to stand up in the back of the unit and rip the rear light bar from the police cruiser

causing approximately $500.00 in damages. Once at the Police station CASTRO

made threats to kill the Officers during booking procedures.

CASTRO was also found in possession of 4.2 grams of marijuana.
