UPDATE: "George Prescott Bush, a political newcomer who is the grandson and nephew of U.S. presidents, filed to run for Texas land commissioner on Tuesday November 19, 2013-- a move that officially begins the continuation of his family's political dynasty with a young, Hispanic, Spanish-speaking candidate.

George P. Bush for Texas Land Commissioner

George P. Bush is part of the next generation of Texas leaders. He is a successful businessman, philanthropist, civic leader and veteran dedicated to advancing conservative values.

While many know him as grandson of President George H.W. Bush, son of former Gov. Jeb Bush and nephew of President George W. Bush, George P. is a native-born Texan and leader with strong convictions and fresh perspectives.
As a public school teacher, George learned that we need more accountability from our schools and more options for our parents.  Education is often measured by inputs; it needs to be measured by outcomes.
As a businessman, George learned that government can’t create jobs; but it can prevent the creation of jobs. Jobs come from small businesses and entrepreneurs who need to have the freedom to pursue their dreams and create economic growth.
And as a military officer, George knows that we must always honor those who have honored us with their service. When our veterans return home, it's important that we support them as they rejoin our local communities. Any time any veteran needs help getting an education, a job or health care, we should provide assistance.
As Texas Land Commissioner, George will bring his conservative values and his real-world experience with him. He will never stop fighting to create a better Texas by promoting our common Texas values of family, faith and freedom.
George will also support the responsible stewardship of our resources and the reasonable drilling of oil and natural gas on public lands. We can and should do both. The days of false choices between protecting the environment and promoting jobs are over. Here in Texas, we are going to take care of our resources and take care of our people at the same time. We are going to fight excessive federal regulation. Too often too many regulations from Washington have been passed that make too little sense.
We are going to fight back for Texas.

“Hi, I’m George P. Bush.
I’m running for Texas Land Commissioner because I believe Texas is a great state…but I also believe, it can be even better.
Texans have always transformed today’s obstacles into tomorrow’s opportunities.  Whether it was winning the West…or producing oil for the world…or sending a shuttle into space…
And that’s why I am running for Texas Land Commissioner... because I believe we can build an even better state and an even better future.
I’m a teacher, a businessman, a husband and a father.  And I’m running because it’s time for a new generation of leaders to step forward, stand up and speak out.
I love this state and I care about its future.
As Texas Land Commissioner, I’ll fight for you and your families.  And not only will I value your vote on Election Day, I’ll vote your values every day with my actions as your Land Commissioner.
Thanks for stopping by.  I hope to see you again soon.”
