Brooklyn Police said that they arrested a 13-year-old boy after he was accused of attacking a 12-year-old boy in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York, on his way to school.

The boy was charged with third-degree assault and aggravated harassment. The boy was released back into the custody of his mother.

The 12-year-old victim, who wished to remain anonymous, said that this incident could have been avoided with closer dedication to religion.

"I think this all could have been avoided. Children and teenagers know that there is a God watching, and they would not only be afraid of the police," the boy said.

The boy, a student at Chabad Lubavitch, reported the incident to police because he was looking for an apology, not because he wanted the police to make an arrest, the boy also said.
