(CNSNews.com) – The former executive director of the pro-abortion group National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA) has been arrested and charged in Washington, D.C., with allegedly making arrangements to have sex with a 12-year-old girl.
Scott Richard Swirling, of Gaithersburg, Md., was arrested and charged last Tuesday in Washington with knowingly traveling across state lines to take part in “illicit sexual conduct” with a person under 18, punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
According to the arrest record and court documents, Swirling allegedly answered a fake advertisement placed online by a joint Metropolitan D.C. police and FBI task force, which featured a supposed father offering up his 12-year-old daughter for sex.
Initially, Swirling was purportedly concerned about a sting, but then allegedly agreed to a meeting after seeing a photo of the supposed 12-year-old girl.
Upon arriving at the arranged meeting spot, Swirling was arrested by an undercover D.C. police officer.
In addition to his position at NFPRHA, Swirling was also an executive director of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA.) He currently is the head of a Gaithersburg-based firm which handles law firm construction and renovation projects.
