SPACE X WOULD LIKE TO TURN BOCA CHICA BEACH INTO A PRIVATE LAUNCH PAD FOR ROCKET SHIPS TO THE MOON ALICE, TO THE MOON!

IS THIS THE END OF GOING TO BOCA CHICA BEACH FOR THE POOR PUBLIC SWIMMERS, FISHERMEN, AND SUN BATHERS?
FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION NOTICE OF PUBLIC SCOPING

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Office of Commercial Space Transportation will prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate potential environmental impacts associated with Space Exploration Technologies Corporation's (SpaceX's) proposal to launch the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy orbital vertical launch vehicles from a private site located in Cameron County, Texas. Under this proposal, SpaceX would construct a vertical launch area at the eastern end of Texas State Highway 4 (Boca Chica Boulevard) and a nearby control center area to support up to 12 commercial launches per year. SpaceX would apply for and obtain appropriate launch licenses and/or experimental permits to be issued by the FAA. The FAA is initiating a scoping process to identify community concerns and local issues that will be addressed in the EIS. As part of the EIS public participation process, the FAA will hold a public scoping meeting to collect input on the proposed project on May 15, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the ITEC Center, 301 Mexico Blvd. G-1, Brownsville, TX. The scoping meeting will include a poster information session from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., FAA presentation from 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., followed by a public statement period in which members of the public may provide up to a 3-minute statement. FAA staff will be present at this meeting to answer general questions on the proposed action and the EIS process. Scoping materials are available at:
http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/ast/environmental/nepa_docs/review/documents_progress/spacex_texas_launch_site_environmental_impact_statement/
The FAA invites members of the public to submit comments or suggestions to assist in identifying significant environmental issues and in determining the appropriate scope of the EIS. Please submit all comments by May 30, 2012 to ensure they are considered during the preparation of the Draft EIS. The public can provide comments in three ways: 1) provide written comments at the scoping meetings, 2) speak with the stenographer who will record your comments at the scoping meetings, or 3) submit comments to: Ms. Stacey M. Zee, Environmental Protection Specialist, Federal Aviation Administration, SpaceX EIS c/o Cardno TEC Inc., 275 West Street, Suite 110, Annapolis, MD 21401; email faaspacexeis@cardnotec.com; or fax (410)-990-0455.
