Those wolves don't bother anything or anybody??? Guess again. This wolf was shot just outside their home down river at Spring Creek. Caroline was in the store and said that they have had a pack running around their place and decided when they heard about them coming their way again, they would try and shoot one (she did have a tag). So the next time came quickly and while waiting for the pack to get closer, they looked in the woods below them and there was this wolf.
He weighed 127 lbs and was a collared wolf and by the time they got it to Fish & Game (which is probably an 1.5 hr drive, Fish & Game already knew about the wolf and said they had been looking for him. He is now skinned and hanging at their place.
The wolf pack had been terrorizing campers lately. Had a couple of guys treed in the cab of their pickup all night at Colson Creek campground. Not afraid of human campsites at all.

If someone is a photo analyst or knows a photo analyst, have them determine whether the photographs have been tampered with or not. I happen to think that the pictures are real. Not every wolf is going to be that big which is exactly why someone won't always have a picture of their kill. If you killed a wolf that big, you would definitely take a picture of it.

The photos do look faked. Makes me wonder why a site would feel it is necessary, or even OK, to use fake photos to support their cause. Makes me think the Web site authors are trying justify and rationalize their position (which in turn suggests they know their position is bullshit). BTW, when I see the magnificent animals these brave and courageous hunters killed, they look like beautiful dogs rather than the ruthless scary killers this site wants me to see. But I guess my logical and rational perspective is what makes me so different from the people who are actually proud of themselves for killing a magnificent wild animal, and from people who want to manipulate public opinion using irrational emotions and faked photographs.

@Avery Flames- tell that to the rancher in Montana who had 120 (yes ONE HUNDRED TWENTY) sheep killed in one night by a pack of wolves, that were left to rot. Tell that to the ranchers in eastern Oregon (my boyfriend's parents for example) who had cattle killed and left to rot. Get a clue.

ummm as a vet yes canines and felines for example do prey killings for fun. not in the way we see it but as impulse killings. afterwards they leave cause they're not hungry. why do you think house cats come back with dead birds and mice un eaten and leave them lay. cats are uses as mouser on farms cause instinctively the will kill a prey then move on. dogs will do for small game and when pack up can go feral. no different then wild cats or wolves

I,for one, don't believe we can really appreciate wolves until we all have them in our back yards. I would like to see a nice mating pair of gray wolves released in Golden Gate Park. They only eat rodents, right? Maybe a feral cat or stray dog but nothing serious. They are moving into Washington and Oregon, I'll just bet Seattle and Portland get to have some before us. In the mean time I am raising and releasing mice for them when they get here.

I know for a fact they can get very large. My brother in law had one that was supposedly found in the cohutta wilderness. This animal had paws the size of horse hooves and huge foreleg muscles. When it was sitting its shoulder was waist high me (Im 5'4). My bro-in-law would go out and wrestle with it in the yard and it would play just like a puppy (a little too roughly due to it's size) and it was raised around humans from a young age. There was no chain strong enough to keep this beast (named Sarge) from getting loose and roaming the neighborhood, and the neighbors were too afraid to come outside when he was loose! My sister and her husband only had Sarge for a little over a month and then he went missing. We think maybe one of the neighbors had something to do with that...But yes a true wolf can get very very big!

I've spent time working In Russia and other former USSR countries they have the habbit of keeping large attack dogs outside all year chained up and I've seen this running about in large packs when they have escaped or unwanted and are much more likely to attack to you then any wolf as they have no fear of humans and will be looking for food. why don't you try comparing number of people kill by pet/gard dogs to wolfs.

Actually these photos are legit, they haven't been altered. They are Canadian timber wolves or Mackenzie Valley wolves and are the largest subspecies of gray wolf. These photos were taken in Canada though, long before the Idaho wolf hunt began. There is no such thing as a Idaho timber wolf, gray wolves are the only wolf to inhabit Idaho and the only ones reintroduced to the area.

Wolves are a natural part of the eco system. If it is true that wolves have taken up sport killing and they are the direct link to our beloved dog, and the dog learns fom us quite well maybe they can learn to shop at the local grocery chain. Would'nt that open a few eyes! The wolf has to eat too, and feed it's young just like us.
