BELOW: THE 380 SWEETHEART CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF HARLINGEN AND JO WAGNER (REESE-WILMONT DEVELOPMENT)

JANUARY 5, 2011 HARLINGEN CITY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES:
Joe Rubio reminded the Commission that Sonny Villarreal, the owner of a local seafood
restaurant, was ordered to remove the tanks that were on his property.  Mr. Rubio was not
in agreement to amending the budget for a $4 million project and he asked where the
money for the purchase of the property was coming from.
Roel Gutierrez, Director of Finance, replied that $500,000 was coming from the general
fund balance and $250,000 from EDC
Roxann Cotroneo explained that the purchase of the property was for downtown use and
not specifically for use by the Reese project.
"If it were for a specific project, a lease
agreement would need to be drawn up."
WHERE'S THE LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE REESE PROJECT NOW THAT THE CITY IS GIVING AWAY A CITY PARKING LOT, RESURFACING THAT LOT, LANDSCAPING THAT LOT, AND BUILDING A COVERED CANOPY FOR 29 VEHICLES ON THAT LOT, FOR A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL (WAGNER) FOR A SPECIFIC PROJECT?

I want one of those 380 deals too. They sound sweet. Where do I sign up? How much do I have to pay under the table? Who do I have to donate to when they run for re-election?
