IS THE HARLINGEN PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD READY TO UNLEASH 8-LINERS ON THE CITIZENS OF HARLINGEN?

A MINOR CHILD SHOWN ABOVE PLAYING AN UNATTENDED/UNSUPERVISED 8-LINER GAMBLING DEVICE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF HARLINGEN RECENTLY!
THE BOTTOM 4 PICTURES ABOVE ARE OF A NEW 8-LINER SHOP THAT HAS OPENED JUST 20 FEET OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS OF HARLINGEN JUST NEXT TO THE PASO REAL HALL ON FRONTAGE ROAD 83 WEST NEAR ALAMO FIRE WORKS BUILDING!  THIS SHOP IS OWNED BY THE SAME PEOPLE WHO RAN AN ILLEGAL 8-LINER GAMBLING JOINT WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF HARLINGEN FOR OVER 8 WEEKS AT THE FORMER CACTUS JACKS BAR ON BUSINESS 83 WEST.  THAT FACILITY QUICKLY CLOSED WHEN THEY WERE DENIED A SPECIAL USE PERMIT BY THE CITY OF HARLINGEN PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD RECENTLY.  THEY STILL OPERATED THE HELL HOLE ILLEGALLY WITH THE FULL KNOWLEDGE OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS FOR THAT 8 WEEK PERIOD.

THE LURE OF EASY MONEY AND HOPES DASHED!
THE HARLINGEN PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETS TONIGHT MARCH 9, 2011 AT 5:30 PM AT CITY HALL TO DISCUSS:
AGENDA ITEM NUMBER 7
DISCUSSION ON CREATING AN ORDINANCE REGULATING 8-LINER ARCADES

The State keeps throwing around the gambling law but yet have the "cojones" to tax these people because the lobbyists and the crooks are paying under the table. The State made it worse by passing STUPID laws that tie law enforcements hands more than they already are? State and Attorney General can't make up their mind whether these are violating the law or not? Then they want the agencies to send the machines to them in Austin when they are surrendered or a judgment made on them. State sells them and they give the agencies a percentage. Its not worth the manpower, time, loading, storing and then transporting them to Austin? Yet, these 8 liner owners are making tax free dollars in the triple digits. There is are some brothers in Brownsville that are making a killing and no one touches them. Hmmmm? Who are they paying off? Who is running interference for them? Loya and Ramirez's mentioned in MyLeaderNews.com are making money hand and foot. No one touches them? Another hmmmm? The city can make a law that allows them and make their money from them. Don't be like the other cities that allow them paying "chump" change. Charge them high permit fees and see if they really want to come into the city? These 8 liners are rigged and take "all walks of life" hard earned money! The city doesn't have to cater to this? Make the State make up their mind and pass the gambling law and place it in selected cities and use that money for the schools like it was supposed to be used for when they permitted Bingo to be legal!
