HARLINGEN PROUD GETS BIG WELCOME ON WEST SIDE DURING CLEANUP!

Harlingen Proud and Harlingen Code Enforcement got a big surprise from one homeowner as they worked their way thru one west side neighborhood on Saturday morning.  Gail Moore a board member of Harlingen Proud was going door to door asking residents if they needed any debris, branches, tires, or junk hauled away for free, when she was greeted by an irate homeowner with a gun and a message, "get off my property, now."  "The landowner was in no mood to discuss trash removal," said Gail,  "he came right out and told me to get off his property or else," she continued.
Fearing for her safety and that of a young volunteer with her, Ms. Moore decided to quickly leave the premises and call the police to notify them of the situation.  Harlingen Police El Capitan Luciano Rubio arrived shortly and diffused the situation without any further incidents.  "Other than that one altercation, the event was a huge success, we filled up two large dumpsters with trash and hauled off several truck loads of tires and other debris," said Moore.  She also said that Harlingen Proud and Code Enforcement would be working in other neighborhoods this spring and summer, throughout the city helping neighbors clean up their areas, free of charge.
Harlingen Proud is a volunteer organization founded in 1990 by a group of concerned citizens.  The purpose of the organization is to empower and educate the community to clean and beautify the environment and to recycle.  Harlingen Proud leadership consists of an 18-member Board of Directors that is appointed by the City Commission and one part-time staff person.

Let me get this right. Little Miss Goodie Two Shoes goes onto this man's property uninvited, infers that his property is not up to her standards; then gets upset when the man has to resort to exercising his constitutional right in asking her to leave. Then Goodie Two Shoes calls the police on the man after she had trespassed on his property. Talk about Big Brother gone too far. She needs to keep her nose out of other people's business. Seems like to me, the man in he life isn't doing his duty very well; or Goodie Two Shoes would not feel so frustrated and have redirect her urges else where and need to control other people. She needs to take up baking.

Mr. Editor: With all the problems the West side is having, I guess people are kind of jumpy.

From the desk of little miss goody two shoes:
When was the last time you volunteered time to help pick up trash and debris, old t.v.'s or water heaters, and old tires, carried it to dumpsters or waiting trucks or trailers for folks who have no other way or the money to dispose of it?
I am going to guess you are an a-- sitter and a sidewalk supervisor who makes fun of others to make himself appear more important.
