HAVANA – A Cuban court sentenced a U.S. aid contractor to 15 years in prison for crimes against the state, the Communist-ruled island’s state television reported Saturday. Alan Gross was found guilty of “acts against the independence and territorial integrity of the state,” according to the report, which said he can appeal the verdict to the Cuban Supreme Court. Prosecutors had been seeking a 20-year sentence.
