DAILY PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you that your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ, was the prime example of the servant. I remember that he washed the disciples’ feet – the work of a slave; that he was host at the Last Supper – and served them there; that he broke and distributed the food at the feeding of the 5,000 and at the supper at Emmaus. Help me to remember that when I serve others I do only what Jesus himself did, and so remember that the servant is not greater than his Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.
